Telangana Talli statue burnt
SANGAREDDY: In an ugly turn of events that may snowball into major controversy, some unidentified persons burnt down the Telangana Talli statute at Daultabad near Narsapur in Medak district. The incident too place in the wee hours of Tuesday, according to Narsapur Circle Inspector Gangadhar. The statue was unveiled by TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao during last year. The miscreants also left a note stating that it was burnt down in retaliation for the destruction of the statue of Congress leader Lakshma Reddy, husband of Women and Child Welfare Minister V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, recently. Protesting over the incident rasta rokos were held at many places demanding the resignation of the Minister and bandh was also observed. TRS district convenor M. Raghunandana Rao visited the spot and condemned the incident. Ms. Sunitha condemned the incident. Stating that Telangana Talli represents the entire population in the region, she said that Congress would get the statue reconstructed.
